Hello, my name is Valerie Llanas, and I am excited to join the Legacy Family as the School Counselor this school year.  I received my Bachelor of Science in Education in 2003 from Eastern New Mexico University and began teaching that same year.  I received my Master of Education in Counselor Education from Texas Tech University in  2009 and have been a school counselor since then.  I have experience counseling with both elementary and middle school students.

     As the school counselor, I am here to help students develop social and emotional learning and mental health awareness and wellbeing.  I work with students to build problem solving and conflict management skills.  I also promote College and Career Readiness for all students because it's never too early to start dreaming about the future.

     My husband is a teacher and a coach, and we are raising three active young boys.  We are often watching or attending some type of sporting event.  I love the Red Raiders and the great state of Texas.
